What are the tech rules for the '09 series. I've never run JBRL so I don't know what Tech is like for minimum weight specs and the like. I just need the major things. Are we following ROAR format? Do we even bother with tech???

Tech will cover weight, width and tire size per ROAR rules. They will also make sure you are running a ROAR approved motor for spec classes and a ROAR approved lipo and check that the voltage is under 8.44V.

Tech goes pretty quick. I think the thing to worry the most about is weight. If you are running a lipo with no other weight in your car there is a pretty decent chance you are under weight. You can check out all the rules on-line at www.roarracing.com for weights. I can't remember them all off the top of my head.

yeah, I received an email from Jimmy today, so I got it covered now. Thanks for the info though. The only thing I need to do is figure out how much weight I need since I am running LiPo. Everything else is alreday ROAR compliant since I thought ahead before I purchased anything. Thanks for the reply though. See you guys at the Season Opener!!!

Get some 1/4 weights and go to tech first thing in the moring to see how far under you are. I wouldn't thing you would need more then 3/4 oz but it depends on the lipo and car you are running.

Yeah, I work in an auto shop, so the square 7 gram weights are EASY to get. I'm going to get up to spec ASAP so I can actually get some run time in before hand to see how it runs with the weight, so I'm not suprised by the handling during the first qual.

Hey everyone! Preparations are under way and have been for some time getting things ready for you all to show up! Yes there is a slight chance of rain but in our valley it usually needs to be over 50% for it to rain since we are surrounded by mountains. We will race no matter what and if we need to take a few breaks than so be it.

Don't forget we have a club race at 5pm on Saturday. $12 for the club race and practice Saturday is free if you pay for club racing. If you simply want to practice than the fee is $7 for Saturday.

Saturday Schedule:
Gates open at 10am
Open practice from 10am to 4pm
Club race at 5pm

Sunday schedule:
Gates open at 6am
Practice from 6am to 8am
Drivers meeting at 8:30am
Racing begins promptly at 9am

To clarify the weights for 2009 they are listed below:
2wd buggy = 1499 grams
4wd buggy = 1613 grams
2wd truck = 1701 grams
Slash Spec = 2154 grams

All vehicles must meet these minimum weights to be legal!

Also we will be checking wheelbase, width, tire sizes, battery voltage (must be 8.44 volts or less NO EXCEPTIONS) on lipos and a few other mystery items! Be ready for tech! Make sure the battery and motor you choose are on the ROAR approved list because if they are no you will be illegal. www.roarracing.com. This year we will not turn down anyone from racing if they are illegal......there run will simply not count.

I think that covers it for now!!!! I'm stoked!!!!

GREAT!!! Thanks for the info. Glad to hear that we'll be running despite reports of rain. See you all on Sunday...I'm very excited.
